Hey folks, I’m diving into a new robotics project and wanted to get some feedback. I’ve been looking at actuator options and stumbled upon Progressive Automations. I haven’t used their stuff before, and I’m wondering if anyone here has? I’m building a small, two-jointed robotic arm for a machine vision experiment. Nothing industrial, just precise and quiet motion is what I need. Any insights or experiences?

Yeah, actually I’ve used Progressive Automations a couple of times over the past year. Most recently for a 4DOF robot arm I designed to simulate repetitive pick-and-place motion. I was skeptical at first too, but I was impressed by how compact their micro linear actuators were — especially the PA-07. What stood out to me was the smooth motion and minimal backlash, which really helped reduce error when coordinating movement between joints. I also paired them with their PA-25 control box, which made it a lot easier to fine-tune speed and stroke. You might want to take a look Progressive Automations — they’ve got solid technical documentation and support too, which saved me from a few wiring headaches. I’d definitely recommend them if precision matters in your build.
